We were delighted to hear that Kuljit Bhamra, with whom we have been working for many years, has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List and awarded an MBE for services to Bhangra and British Asian music.

Kuljit has made an astonishing contribution to the world and fusion music scenes, and he continues to go from strength to strength. His recent Raga Mela, a celebration of the ancient tradition of raga as seen through the eyes of a Western symphonic orchestra, was performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and broadcast on Radio 3 in May. He is currently working with the Orlando Consort, one of Britain's foremost chamber music ensembles, in a programme melding early Renaissance church music with eastern sounds sung and performed on tabla and sitar. We eagerly await news of his next project, which is bound to be as surprising as these!
