How do I book an act I've found on your website?
If you found an act you think is perfect for your event, just click the "Add to enquiry list" button beside their name. Fill in your details on the Enquiry Form that appears, making sure you fill in your name and email as a minimum, and click the "send information" button. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.
How do I know your artists are reliable and professional?
We only represent acts who are completely professional in their attitude and their performance. All artists are auditioned, either live or through audio and video media, and most are recommended by other performers or our regular bookers. We constantly monitor performance, behaviour, time keeping, sobriety and make improvements on a weekly basis. Client feedback is taken into account and testimonials are sought and published where possible.
Are your performers fully insured?
Most of our acts have pubic liability insurance regarding their own performance, but any public live music event will require further liability insurance for the organisers and their equipment.
I've got to organise a themed event/themed party - can you help?
Themed parties are a bit of a speciality here at Matters Musical, because we have the authentic musicians to make your event perfect. Organising a beach party? We cn book you limbo dancers to amaze, Hawaiian hula dancers to delight and a steel band to get everyone up and dancing! Need a Bollywood evening that sparkles? We'll provide stunning Bollywood dancers, singers and musicians, many of whom have actually worked in the Indian film industry
Can you provide performers for TV and commercial work?
Our performers have appeared in a wide range of tv shows, commercials, films, stage shows, photo shoots and pop videos, both as performers and studio musicians - just call with your requirements.
Can you organise entertainment for a summer ball?
We LOVE summer balls (and winter balls) here at Matters Musical, and our acts love them too, because everyone is having such as good time! We can provide a whole range of acts to delight and surprise your guests, from tribute bands to samba dancers, African drummers to Dixieland jazz bands.
Can you provide entertainment for an industry awards ceremony?
We have provided acts and surprise 'stings' for awards ceremonies across the UK and beyond. We can even theme the acts to your industry - ask us for details on +44 1306 741007.
Do you provide music for weddings?
Yes, absolutely, we can provide all your wedding music from the service to the reception entertainment. Wedding service music we can arrange ranges from a solo singer to a full choir, or instrumentalists if you prefer. We can have a piper playing as you leave the church, a string quartet playing during your drinks receptionist, opera highlights during the wedding breakfast, and a funky family-friendly function band to get everyone up and dancing all night long, from toddlers to grannies!
Do you provide music for Jewish weddings?
Our klezmer bands are always in high demand, and you can hire a band from us for a bar mitzvah too!
Can you provide musicians for my wedding abroad?
Yes, our performers work all over the world from Abu Dhabi to Zanzibar.
What are your Terms and Conditions of booking?
As an established entertainment agency, we always supply comprehensive terms and conditions with any booking, so you know precisely what is provided, and by whom. These T&Cs also include details on payment and cancellation clauses.
Do I need to provide your performers with staging, lighting, their own trailer, etc?
It all depends on the nature of your event. Many of our performers are self-contained, but all will require an appropriate space to perform in, and often a proper place to change from day clothes into their costumes, and store thier valuables. For example, a 1970s funk function band might bring their own lighting and PA and only require access to a power socket, whilst Irish dance troupes or ballroom dancers will usually require a flat, level floor area to perform on. If your event does not take place in a dedicated performance space such as a theatre or arts centre, it's probably best to call us and chat through the logistics on +44 1306 741007.
Do I need to book artists years in advance?
No, but the more notice you give us, the more chance we have of securing your favourite artist for your chosen date. Many of our performers are in great demand worldwide, and are often booked months in advance, al over the world. If by any chance your chosen artists is not available, we will suggest another high quality performer with comparable skills and talents.
How authentic are your period music musicians?
About as authentic as you can get short of being born 300+ years ago! Our medieval and renaissance early music specialists play on authentic reproduction instruments and also dress the part, for the sound of music from Shakespeare's time or a historically accurate Elizabethan minstrel sound.
How do you choose your world music performers?
We are very fussy about our musicians, and we only feature performers and players with genuine and deep understanding of their musical style. Many of our performers come from the country or region where their music originated, and some are third generation musicians. Each artist's entry on our website gives a brief history, so you can book real flamenco dancers born in Spain, panpipe players who trained in the top music school in Peru, and mariachi bands from Mexico, not Margate!
How do I book lots of musicians and performers for one event?
