Abi Gilchrist / Seduce Band

This versatile 2 – 6 piece band features at its core, the stylish and sophisticated vocals of soul diva Abi Gilchrist and Steve Trowell, lead singer of The Magnets.

Abi Gilchrist, from Blackheath, London is a new breed of Soul Diva rising out of the exciting ‘britpack’ school of jazz performers alongside names such as Natalie Williams (a fellow student at Guildhall School of Music), Stephen ‘Lord’ Large (with whom she performs in the infamous ‘Ronnie Scott’s Rejects’ band) and Damien Flood (with whom she regularly performs and tours), who are pushing and successfully crossing over the boundaries between jazz, soul and pop. Abi appeals to a new generation of audience who crave true talent along with catchy, well-written songs.

With their band of talented musicians with backgrounds in TV’s Pop Idol band and Dancing in the Street in the West End, not to mention serious jazz stars, Steve and Abi have performed for the likes of Tony Blair, Elle Macpherson, Cilla Black and Gorbachov in many top UK venues such as Madame Tussauds, The Royal Albert Hall, as well as internationally in Tuscany, Italy, St Moritz, Switzerland, and Limassol, Cyprus.

They also frequently perform as part of the famous Kitsch Lounge Riot at The Pigalle Club and Café de Paris in London as well as hosting music nights in other clubs and bars around the UK.

2008 saw Seduce performing a residency at the London Motorshow and in 2008 and 2009 for Lewis Hamilton at the Maclaren Formula 1 team’s party on the eve of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. 2009 also got off to a great start with a 2 week residency as the guest band at the new 7 Seas Music Venue in Cyprus and amongst other gigs in 2010 Seduce played their new ‘80’s Seduction’ show to a sell out crowd at the London Boat Show.

Seduce’s wide repertoire can encompass vocal-led songs ranging from jazz classics and favourite big band swing tracks… the perfect background music for a smooth and sophisticated dinner or drinks reception or for some sassy early evening dancing. They also have full dance floor packing sets consisting of a range of music from 60’s rock n roll to 70’s disco and 80’s rock ending up with the best current chart music – all performed in the unique Seduce funky vibe!
