Blame The Parents is a tasteful five piece band covering rock, pop, soul and Motown classics from the 60s to the present day. Their authentic sound is attributed to Steve's soulful vocal style, and the band's wealth of singing and playing experience both live and in the studio. From the Corporate event to the more intimate wedding or birthday party, BTP can provide an evening of world class musical entertainment, and is fully self contained with their own PA and stage lighting. Background music can also be supplied at your request. The members of Blame the Parents have many years of musical experience between them and over the years have all had brushes with fame in various guises. They have managed to survive it all and still remain true to their musical selves. Lead Vocalist / Guitarist Steve B started his musical career in the Royal Marines. He would often be found on stage singing and playing at the various military functions within his regiment. After leaving the forces he was actively involved with 'Edison Lighthouse' and the 'Ivy League.' After spending several years as a session artist, Steve emerged to form BTP. Guitarist Danny started out in original and New Wave bands and then progressed into session playing in the early 80s. Original founder member of dance band 'Hollywood', he has also worked with former members of the 'Tremolos', 'ELO', and rock band 'Thunder', joining BTP in 2003. Drummer Jamie's first band 'Clerical Error' made a big impact in music papers Melody Maker and NME, culminating in a TV appearance on the London Programme. During the 80s he cut singles with several bands before joining BTP in 1997. Keyboard Player Derek and several members of his musical family collaborated together successfully in the family band for more than two decades. Derek continued on to become part of the acclaimed 'Madness' tribute band 'One Step Behind', playing The Brixton Academy, The Marquee and The Winter Garden. The band also appeared on numerous TV shows. After a brief spell with cult 60s band 'Project X', he joined BTP in 2000. Bassist Pete, never out of the musical world for three decades, has kept a solid back-line in various groups as diverse as function band 'Rainbows End', to rock band 'The Passion Killers'. Nicknamed 'Soda Pop', he also joined BTP in 2000.
