Starsound Entertainment was formed from humble beginnings. We now use state of the art sound and lighting to create a great party. All the styles of music from 50s and 60s to the current chart toppers, to keep the dance floor full all night long.

Starsound Entertainment were founded in 1981. With an investment of £1,000 Nick and his mate (to help move the equipment) bought a cheap and cheerful FAL twin deck and three small lighting effects, then it was off to the record shop (remember those things?) buying the top twenty singles and the top ten albums, and asking friends and family if they had any records they didn’t want any more.  Then he got a cheap transit van to move the gear around and that was the money gone.

So with no money and no bookings it was time to make a few calls to some pubs.  After a day or two the Fur and Feathers in Herriard said that they would give him a go on a Saturday night, so that was the first gig for Nick.  During the 80s he was also doing the discos for the Dukes Head in Alton, The White Hart in Holbourne, Tree Horse Shoes in Worldham and the Wheel Club in Four Marks along with other bookings picked up along the way.

Then in 1985 he got a call from the Grange Hotel in Alton they had been let down and asked if he was available, as luck would have it he was; it was a wedding reception for 80 guests so off he went suited and booted in the clapped out Transit van with mate in tow, the gig went really well, the Bride and Groom were pleased and the guests were asking for business cards. The Hotel offered more and more work, and Starsound Entertainment have now been the resident DJs there for more years than we care to remember.

Things have changed a bit, and these days we have a music collection of around 100,000 tracks, and no we don’t use those old Fal twin decks any more. We have a few more lights than just the three these days, in fact the set up now has gone from the £1,000 it cost to start to around £30,000 and we are always updating. We have worked with various bands and groups; in January 2008 we played along side N-Dubz for an 18th Birthday foam party.
