Alan Dunn is a solo accordionist whose repertoire includes standards, French, Italian, Eastern European, Russian, Klezmer, British and American folk and sea shanties.
He began playing the ‘squeeze-box’ with zydeco/cajun band ‘Electric Bluebirds’ and has been professional ever since. From this band he was picked up by Richard Thompson (ex-’Fairport Convention’) with whom he toured USA and Britain and made an album (‘Across A Crowded Room’).
He then joined Loudon Wainwright III for an 18 month tour and for the album ‘Therapy’ before touring with Bob Geldof, initially only on accordion but subsequently doubling keyboards. For the last 5 years Alan has been the accordionist and keyboard player for the Rolf Harris band. He is also the keyboard player with the recently formed Kremlinaires.
Alan Dunn has participated in may recording sessions for both the pop and TV/film industries. He has performed in the pit at The National Theatre and in the West End as well as a residency at the Mountbatten Hotel, the Saint James Hotel and with Vladimir Asriev at the Langham Hilton.
Alan can also put small ensembles together with violin, guitar and double bass.
