Bavarian style band playing music from Germany and Austria. Can play as solo accordionist up to 20 musicians and can provide yodellers and dancers, all in traditional costume.
Alpengold Blaskapelle is a professional 'Bavarian' style band formed in 1975 to entertain in the 'Alpengold Restaurant' in London. Since leaving there it has performed both nationwide and overseas in clubs, hotels, restaurants, conference centres, ships and universities. Past summer seasons include Warner Brothers, Butlins Hotels, Rock Garden Pavilion Southsea, Combe Haven Holiday Park, Sussex Beach Holiday Village, the Winter Gardens Weston Super Mare, the English Riviera Centre Torquay and the Pyramids Southsea. Also two consecutive years in the Denton Lounge Worthing, the Pavilion Weymouth and the 'Biergarten' Great Yarmouth. Bookings include NATO bases in Italy, Lakeside Country Club Camberley, Windsor Safari Park, the World Rifle Championships at Bisley with Prince Luitpold of Bavaria, and two appearances in the Howard Davis Park in Jersey.
German electronics and car companies use the band for their promotional events as do distributors of the top German lagers and wines, HMF and the USAF book the band regularly, also top hotels and conference centres that require background music during dinners, gradually progressing into participation if required. Local authorities book the band for 'Bavarian' evenings and as a concert band to play in parks or concert halls, where again the audience is encouraged to participate.
The band's success is in its ability to travel anywhere at any time in the UK or overseas, its versatility to adapt to the situation at each moment and its complete reliability.
Alpengold Blaskapelle was formed by Derek Jenner who served in the Band of HM Coldstream Guards. Earlier service took him to Germany where he gained experience playing in a German band. As well as being the founder and manager of the band, he also fronts the band on its engagements, creating a happy, care-free atmosphere normally only found at a 'Bierfest', or more refined when needed.
Alpengold Blaskapelle is booked for Bavarian evenings, parties, promotions, beer and wine festivals, cabaret, conferences etc. The music is mostly authentic music from Germany and Austria, all of which can be danced, clapped or swayed to; plus 'fun' items showing off the musicians in a light hearted manner. Plenty of traditional involvement for the partygoers, also competitions and singalongs to special arrangements of British drinking songs. The dancing is mainly traditional including the learning of the 'Schuplatter', but also includes some of the well known standards.
Whether the event is large or small, the band is experienced in presenting music and entertainment in a festive mood, with plenty of partygoer participation organised by the front man.
