Spikedrivers | Bluesroots at its best's Bio

Guitarist Ben Tyzack, Bassist Constance Redgrave and percussionist Maurice McElroy are the new sound of transatlantic blues.

They’ve been compared to The Band, Led Zeppelin, Ry Cooder, JJ Cale, Pentangle, Fleetwood Mac and even Pink Floyd. It all adds up to simply the Spikedrivers.

With their high energy show, Spikedrivers have been burning up European festival stages. They’ve gained rave reviews at the Chedigny Blues Festival, Cognac Blues Passions, Lugano Blues to Bop Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival, and the Jazz Rallye de Luxembourg to name just a few.

While all the early blues influences are here – Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Rev Robert Wilkins et al -they add their own blend of north African and Native American rhythms, gospel harmonies, sixties blues and rock guitar.

Testimonials
