The Kevin O’Regan Band

Kevin’s music is a heady cocktail of folk with a hint of blues, a dash of country, a splash of rock washed down with a large measure of his characteristic exuberance.
"Whether solo, in a duo or with his band, Kevin will have any audience completely engaged. His songs will make you laugh, cry and sing."

It really is for me to say a massive thank you to you and the band for a fantastic performance. You are certainly regarded as one of the highlights of the weekend.

Julie, Newbury Waterways Festival

Thank you so much for making our evening so enjoyable; everyone loved it. Not only did it help to sell tickets, it just made the evening and we made £1200 which was amazing.

Angie, Croughton Church

We saw you at Bloxham Steam Rally and my daughter danced to your songs in the beer tent. She still today sings The Frampton Men. Love the band, see you again.

The Kevin O’Regan Band's Bio

Exuberant, varied, engaging. These three words capture the essence of The Kevin O’Regan Band.

Kevin’s music is a heady cocktail of folk with a hint of blues, a dash of country, a splash of rock washed down with a large measure of his characteristic exuberance. He has written songs that are guaranteed to have an audience singing, songs of great wit and modern ballads of extraordinary sensitivity. One of his songs reached the finals of the 2015 UK Songwriting Contest which is a prestigious competition organised by major institutions and individuals in the music industry such as the Brit Trust. The UKSC attracts thousands of entries every year from across the World.

The Kevin O’Regan Band consists of Kevin on vocals, guitar and sometimes piano, Kevin Ward on fretless bass and Rai Clews on cajon. Kevin Ward plays with passion and has a brilliant ability to bring out the nuances of a song’s melody and rhythm. He is one of the finest exponents of the five string fretless bass in the UK.  Rai Clews has a wealth of experience with various bands and his cajon, made incidentally by his wife Fiona, can unusually be played on two faces. He can thus make it sound like a bodhran or kick and snare drums.

Kevin’s songs draw from his acute observation of people and the way we live as well as, occasionally, his Irish roots. His voice has depth and power but can also convey the most subtle emotions. A performance by the Kevin O’Regan Band will take the audience through a huge range of emotions and leave them uplifted by the humour, the great choruses and the sheer exuberance of the band.

NB The band can bring two Irish dancers subject to availability, space and fee.
