Toa Haka

We are proud to be one of the rare, authentic Māori performance companies in the UK. Our team are all of Māori, or Pacific Island descent. As our client, this means you're getting the real deal. No cheap imitations, or gimmicks. 100% authenticity.

Toa Haka's Bio

We are truly passionate about our culture, and we love sharing this with our clients. In turn, we provide an opportunity for our audience to reflect on your own cultures, appreciate your ancestry has led you here and consider the legacy you want to leave for your descendants.

We provide a variety of modules and packages through the medium of Haka, the cultural performance of the Māori people of Aotearoa (New Zealand).

The Haka has been made famous by the All Blacks rugby team, who perform it with precision, respect and passion. It plays an integral role in physically and mentally preparing them for battle.

Haka is the perfect embodiment of unity. Something we call ‘Kotahitanga.’ Everybody moving and chanting as one, with one voice and one common purpose.

Haka is a unique way of bringing people together and creating an energy like no other.

With over 35 years performing expertise and being based in the UK, we provide an authentic experience and rare opportunity to learn about our Māori culture in the Northern Hemisphere, and beyond.

We care about the success of your event and we value going above and beyond our client’s expectations. We repeatedly receive great feedback from our clients, and we pride ourselves on the organic growth and referrals this brings.

Our sessions are interactive and our audiences are consistently engaged in our performance, passion and pride for our culture.

MASTERCLASS

Traditionally, Haka is performed to display a tribe’s pride, strength and unity. Our interactive masterclasses are ideal for team building, camaraderie and galvanising your event.

PERFORMANCE

Haka is commonly known as a war dance, but it’s also customary for entertaining, celebrating and instilling strength and determination. Our awe-inspiring performances are ideal for energising your event.

LEADERSHIP

Our interactive leadership sessions use Māori key values and ‘kaupapa’ (purpose, policy) to share what leaders can glean from the rituals and ceremony of Haka and Māori culture to weave into contemporary business and leadership.

IDENTITY

Haka is globally recognised as an expression of power and identity. Our identity sessions provide an opportunity to learn about the origins and stories of our culture, and for our audience to leave with a deeper appreciation of self.

TESTIMONIALS

“Sol was absolutely brilliant; The team loved him! I wasn’t sure how the group would respond – would they be shy and not participate etc, but the whole group got up and participated. He gave a brilliant and engaging history of the Haka and Māori culture which several people at dinner told me was fascinating, and he’s a naturally funny guy which put people at ease. Couldn’t recommend him more highly!”

Kevin McGrath, Workday

“Sol was the stand out performance at a recent festival we held. He was both funny and informative and managed to get the crowd up and learning the Haka with ease, and then stayed around after his set to chat and take photos with the guests. TOA Haka are professionals and true entertainers.”

Martin Chose, The Parks Trust, Milton Keynes
