Vox Angelica's Bio

Vox Angelica is a unique upper voices group of distinction and versatility. Their repertoire encompasses a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from the Medieval period to the present day. Whether it is sacred choral music, British folk song, choral classics, spirituals, jazz or pop arrangements, the group performs with refreshing vitality.

Vox Angelica can offer different costumes to suit any particular occasion or theme. In addition, the number of singers is negotiable depending on the requirements and the budget for the event or function, ranging from a vocal quartet to a larger chamber choir.

Weddings
Vox Angelica’s versatility means that they are ideal for weddings wherever the ceremony takes place: church, registry office, hotel or stately home. For those planning a wedding the group can either suggest a range of suitable music or even arrange a specifically requested piece of music for the special day.

Vox Angelica are accompanied by a talented organist and pianist who would be available to play for other parts of the ceremony or reception upon request.

Functions
Vox Angelica are also suited to performing at a range of private and corporate functions. Whatever the occasion – birthday, anniversary celebration, memorial service, or corporate hospitality event – we can provide an entertaining programme to suit your needs.

Schools/Workshops
In recent years there has been an obvious decline in the number of children showing interest in singing and music itself. Vox Angelica are anxious to address this trend and encourage young people to learn and enjoy using their singing voices.

Every member of Vox Angelica has extensive experience of singing, both choral and solo and is committed to providing opportunities and training for young and adult singer alike. In addition, each singer is skilled in directing choirs, and leading workshops and training days.

Depending on requirements, the group can offer workshops or training days providing instruction in a number of different areas: vocal technique, learning to sing as a group, improving your sight reading, learning to deal with performing nerves, etc.

Concerts
Vox Angelica regularly perform for concerts, transporting audiences through a rich tapestry of musical styles and periods. However, programmes can also be tailored to suit particular events or themes. Recent concert venues have included Trinity College, Cambridge and The Epsom Playhouse.

Carols for Christmas

Depending on the budget available and the kind of Christmas concert required we can put together a programme using a harpist to accompany us which gives a really ‘magical’ atmosphere. Alternatively, a programme incorporating some light-hearted Christmas readings and some congregational carols for audience participation gives a very different festive feel!

Programme with Vox Angelica & harp includes:
Ceremony of Carols – Britten
For him all stars have shone – Bob Chilcott
Winter Lullabies – Howard Goodall
Cradle Song – Cecilia McDowall
Angel’s Carol – John Rutter
